Frequently asked questions

What are the layers in this puzzle?

Six modules of a cutaway turbofan: the fan, compressor, combustor, turbine, exhaust nozzle and the outer nacelle casing. Drag each one onto its dashed outline along the engine axis.

Does the order of the layers matter?

Yes. The engine only makes sense when the modules sit front to back: fan, compressor, combustor, turbine and nozzle, all wrapped by the nacelle. Each part snaps only to its own position, so the correct axial order is enforced.

Why is the nacelle a separate part?

The nacelle is the outer casing that channels the bypass air and holds the core. Fitting it frames the internal modules and completes the cutaway.

Is this a working engine model?

No. It is a simplified cutaway for teaching how the modules are arranged, not a buildable or accurate engineering model.
