Frequently asked questions

What do you actually assemble in this puzzle?

Eight parts of a single-cylinder engine: the cylinder block, crankshaft, connecting rod, piston, cylinder head, intake valve, exhaust valve and spark plug. Drag each one onto its own dashed outline on the cutaway.

What happens once every part is fitted?

A play button appears and runs the four-stroke cycle. The crankshaft turns, the piston travels up and down, the valves open and close in order, and the spark plug flashes at the start of the power stroke.

How do I place a part correctly?

Drag a part from the tray and drop it near the matching dashed outline. When you are close, the outline turns green; drop it there to snap the part into place.

Is this a real engine model?

No. It is a heavily simplified single-cylinder teaching model made to show how the parts fit together, not a buildable engineering drawing.

Disclaimer: Diagrams are heavily simplified for educational demonstration only. Real-world systems contain far more variables and complexity. Not for engineering production use. Not financial, political or professional advice.
